Psychological Testing
About Psychological Testing
Psychological tests and assessments are a way for mental health clinicians, typically psychologists, to gather and integrate data to evaluate a person’s behavior, abilities, and other characteristics, particularly for the purposes of making a diagnosis or treatment recommendation.
Psychological Testing at Doxa Renewal Clinic
Using various testing methods and testing instruments, psychologists assess diverse psychiatric problems (e.g., anxiety, depression, OCD, addictive behaviors) and non-psychiatric concerns (e.g., intelligence, learning disabilities, career interests) in a range of clinical, educational, organizational, forensic, and other settings.
At Doxa we provide full psychological evaluations and administer the following tests and assessments:
- ADD and ADHD testing
- IQ and cognitive abilities tests: WISC-V, WIAT-4, WAIS-IV, D-KEFS COMPLETE, CONNERS 3, ACS, CEFI
- Personality inventory and diagnostics for psychiatric disorders: MMPI-3 and various other diagnostic assessments.
How Testing Works
Psychologists come to diagnostic recommendations by first interviewing the patient and his or her family (where applicable), through a clinical interview. Observation, standardized tests, self-report measures, physiological or psychophysiological measurement devices, or other specialized procedures and apparatuses are also used later in the testing process.
